Farmtopia addresses the limited adoption of Agricultural Digital Solutions (ADSs) among European small-scale farmers by focusing on making digital agriculture more accessible, affordable, and scalable. The project develops reusable software modules, scalable infrastructure, and innovative business and governance models that support the creation, deployment, and long-term sustainability of ADSs. Through co-creation and piloting activities, Farmtopia works to reduce implementation costs and bridge the digital divide in European agriculture, enabling more farmers to benefit from digital innovation. https://farmtopia.eu/
- Creating Impact Together
Farmtopia and CrackSense share a common goal of advancing the adoption of Agricultural Digital Solutions (ADSs) by making digital innovation more accessible, affordable, and impactful for farmers. While CrackSense focuses on real-time sensing technologies and data-driven monitoring of fruit cracking in high-value crops, Farmtopia addresses the broader structural barriers to ADS adoption by developing reusable software modules, scalable infrastructure, and sustainable business and governance models. Together, the projects contribute to closing the digital divide in agriculture by combining technological innovation with scalable frameworks for deployment and uptake, supporting more resilient and economically viable farming systems.
- Joint Activities
International Agricultural Fair, Novi Sad (2024–2026)
CrackSense and Farmtopia jointly participated in the 91st, 92nd, and 93rd International Agricultural Fair in Novi Sad, engaging with farmers, researchers, and industry stakeholders. Through their shared presence, the projects presented complementary approaches to digital agriculture and promoted awareness of Horizon Europe innovation in the agricultural sector.
- Research & Innovation Green Street @ UNSFA (2025)
At the Christmas Research & Innovation Green Street event hosted at the Faculty of Agriculture in Novi Sad, Farmtopia and CrackSense were showcased alongside other Horizon Europe projects. The informal setting enabled direct engagement with students, researchers, and industry representatives, fostering discussions on digital transformation in agriculture.
- Bioeconomy Changemakers Festival – Novi Sad
Both projects were presented at the Bioeconomy Changemakers Festival satellite event, where Future Systems Hub introduced Horizon Europe initiatives to students and academic audiences through interactive presentations and outreach activities focused on sustainable and data-driven agriculture.
- EKOAgriTech 2025 – Beta via Showcase
At EKOAgriTech 2025, hosted by Beta via, both CrackSense and Farmtopia were presented alongside several Horizon Europe initiatives, including WHEATBIOME, ICAERUS EU, and XGain. The event provided an opportunity to showcase ongoing research and innovation activities and highlight complementary approaches to digital agriculture, from advanced sensing technologies to scalable ADS deployment frameworks.
