ATB – The Leibniz Institute of Agricultural Engineering and Bioeconomy (ATB)

ATB – The Leibniz Institute of Agricultural Engineering and Bioeconomy (ATB) is a European research center with an interdisciplinary field of activity at the nexus of biological and technical systems, combining basic research with a high level of application orientation. The institute develops technology, processes and management strategies for the transformation of agricultural and food systems into a sustainable bio-based circular economy. To this end, bioeconomic production systems are analyzed, modeled and evaluated using data science methods. The goal is a knowledge-based, site-specific production of biomass – as food and feed, raw material base and energy source. ATB thus contributes to food security, animal welfare, the holistic use of biomass and the protection of climate and environment.
